YM Carrington came to Manchester, England, thinking they were going to study at university. What followed was a system nightmare involving both the university and the US government, which failed their visa status. They were forced into the asylum system and now the Home Office wants to send them back to the USA, one of the most dangerous countries right now for people of colour.
For years, they have spoken openly about history, including doing activism for Palestine. But they were then listed on a website that deliberately targets anyone who does not agree with Zionist beliefs and this exact article is cited as part of the Home Office's reasons to deny their asylum claim.
They even had a stalker who harassed them from Israel by email, to the extent of sending them pictures of themselves in bunkers, and signing them up to Zionist newspapers without their consent.
Now they face removal from the country they have built their life in, branded antisemitic by the very movement they criticised.
We sat down with them to let them tell their full side of the story, unfiltered, unedited, and uninterrupted.
